Faith and Friendship

Happy Sunday everyone! A few people have been asking me about the “mustard seed” necklace I wore during my last chemo treatment so I wanted to give you the backstory. (Yes, I was healthy enough to get chemo last week! PTL!) So, I received the necklace in the mail last week from my dear friend Courtney Chadwick Miller (who was given the necklace by her friend Angie Rhodes). More about that later….

Anyway, when I opened the box, it had the word “Faith” and “Mathew 17:20” inside. That verse says “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20-21).

I think the point is that even a little bit of faith- faith the size of a tiny mustard seed can overcome mountainous obstacles in our lives.

I’m so thankful to have strong women in my life supporting me that also share my faith in God and the plan he has for our lives.

On that note….

I just found out a few minutes ago that after my 4 best girlfriends (that I’ve known since junior high- Courtney, Anna, Jenni, and Emily) saw my “mustard seed” necklace, they all ordered one as well. How sweet is that? These girls have been such a huge part of my support system during this entire crazy process. It seems strange, but my diagnosis has brought so many blessings to my life that I didn’t even know I was missing (like the renewed friendship from four amazing women).

I’ve said it before, but I know God has his hand on this, and my story isn’t over. It’s just beginning. This necklace is a nice reminder of that.

xo,

Disclaimer: No, I am not selling this necklace….or anything else for that matter 🙂

P.S. I’ll be getting an MRI tomorrow to monitor the progress of the tumor in my breast. Praying that the Lord will give us some good results!

  2. I love this! My best friend gifted me a bracelet when I was going through rough times (my dad had to have brain surgery) and she sent along a quote about having the tiniest bit of strength. It really was such a great reminder of our resilience and I wear it when I’m feeling low. Sending you good vibes!
