Mamma Mimi🖤

Good morning friends! Well, for the last two days I’ve been up before the sun…..but today when I started stirring at 5am I wasn’t dreading the day (part of that is because I was asleep by 7:30pm haha). (Sidenote: I’m finishing this blog post at 7am……amazing what you can accomplish when you’re RESTED and up early) 😉

Yesterday one of my best friends came to Baton Rouge. She was originally coming in town just for her cat’s Dental surgery (Prince Louis is doing well for those wanting to know…..also Anna admitted she chose the vet in Baton Rouge so she could come see me💜). Fortunately for me, while Louis was in surgery Anna was able to keep me company at the doctor yesterday while I got labs, a shot, and met with my oncologist. It wasn’t an easy day emotionally- but Anna never wavered. She had the Lord’s peace covering her. She was the real MVP of the day.

This morning I woke up to a text from Anna. It said “My Mamma Mimi never let us leave her house without ‘claiming Psalms 91 over us.’ The more I read it as an adult, I understand why. It’s a powerful prayer of protection. We love you and are praying for your strength.”

“The Lord says, I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer. I will be with them in trouble. I will RESUE and HONOR them. I will reward them with a LONG life and give them my salvation.”

Wow, what powerful words to wake up to. As Mark and I get ready to meet with my oncologist in Dallas, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Sometimes we need to be reminded that the Lord is HERE with us, walking beside us in the land of the living. The Lord’s grace and protection are here for the taking. That’s a pretty good way to start the day if you ask me. Thanks Mamma Mimi.

  3. Holly, I was up early too, thinking of your day ahead and praying for your day to go well. Lord, please put your shield of protection around Holly and Mark today. Please give her strength, peace and patience. We know you have a plan for Holly’s life. We are asking for complete healing. Our faith is in you, Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen
